I’ve been looking at chrome options for Killer Queen. Unity USA sells a chrome spotlight using the X-LED light, and I’ve considered getting the push bars chromed as well.
In fact, I could take a unique tack: have the outboard facing surface of the push bars remain powder coat black, the original. And have the inboard surfaces chrome as well as the cross members.
To polish it all off, chrome trim rings for the police interceptor steelies. What do you guys think?
Edit: I don't know if it qualifies, but I could take it to Radwood after all that is done.

No to the chrome spotlight, no to the chrome push bar, yes to the stainless beauty rings for the steelies. Chrome is goofy and akward on anything newer than... Idunno, 1984?

The idea was to have it be a bit of a throwback to the early 90s.

I wouldnt go chrome on that model Crown Vic. Ive seen the older gens with lots of chrome accents, but dont think itll look great on that one.

Why so
adverse to chrome?

I feel like making only a part of the pushbars chrome wouldn’t look like you imagine it. Maybe think about adding some sort of chrome trim to them, like long chrome stripes on the surfaces you want. It could add a 70s/80s vibe to the finish.

You never know. Plus, LTDs are hard to find in good condition.

When used in excess, I agree.

My opinion also, but whatever floats your boat.

Here I thought you were talking about me :(
but yeah any chrome that didn’t come on a modernish car from factory almost never looks good.

I support the c hrome trim rings on the wheels but none of the rest of it.

I personally don’t care for chrome. (other than the centre caps).
It’s one of those things that’s too easy to go overboard with.

Chrome trim rings only look good on the 2002 and older style deep dish wheels. IMO.

Why ask for Oppo’s opinion if you’re just going to clapback at anyone who doesn’t agree with yours?
I think chrome looks bad on basically everything, because it historically has been so overused to the point of being tacky.

Indeed. Box Panthers are the cars I remember most fondly from my youth. They’re virtually all gone now. I passed up a decent condition ‘89 police package car many years ago because I thought $800 was unreasonable. That was stupid.

Because I’m trying to balance my thoughts with the current general aesthetic sense that prevails this decade. In other words, I’m trying to temper myself here. :P
